Wilfred is a qualified Barrister at Law (Lincoln’s Inn, United Kingdom) and has practised law for about 17 years. He is also admitted to the Bar in Australia (Australian Capital Territory and the Federal Courts of Australia, the Republic of Singapore and Brunei Darussalam as a qualified Advocate & Solicitor. His experience includes working in Singapore as a legal practitioner and working in the Gulf region for both the private and the public sector as Head of Legal Department/Chief Compliance Office heading the Legal and Compliance Department.

As a qualified lawyer, Wilfred has assisted international clients (including financial institutions and property companies) to handle their corporate and commercial work, legal and regulatory compliance issues both in the Republic of Singapore and the Gulf Cooperation Council (“GCC”) countries in the Middle East region. His experience includes investment fund and investment banking, dealing with complex corporate issues such as deal structuring aspects. He was involved in the legal aspects of property development and construction work and related matters in the GCC region. The development of a compilation of best practice compliance policies and operational procedures for the various jurisdictions that he has worked in adds another milestone to his achievements. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law for a Canadian University, having previously lectured on Corporate Governance issues.

Wilfred is currently a member of the Singapore Academy of Law, the Law Society of Singapore and Dubai Corporate Counsel Group and a qualified Compliance Officer registered with the Dubai Financial Services Authority, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Wilfred brings a “Middle-Eastern” dimension of legal practice to Central Chambers.
