Matthew Yeoh has practised law for more than 20 years in the UK, Malaysia and Singapore. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1986. His practice includes civil litigation, corporate advisory, corporate and retail banking, commercial law, conveyancing, and immigration practice. He is legal advisor to corporate clients in China, India, Pakistan, Thailand and Indonesia which has business interests in this region. He is instrumental in forming the Malaysia-Pakistan Friendship Society in which he serves as a committee member and advises foreign clients in diverse issues such as foreign investment regulations in Malaysia and Singapore, corporate laws, employment laws, immigration laws, personal and corporate finance, entrepreneurial development, funding, and mergers and acquisitions.
He is the legal advisor of the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China and is well-connected with the Malaysian diplomatic and business community in China. He is a Certified International Property Specialist, a member of the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) and a registered trademarks agent and licensed migration agent. He writes regularly for magazines and other foreign publications and has been invited to speak at various conferences and seminars both locally and abroad on diverse topics ranging from retirement and relocation, to cross-border investments. Previously he had served as a visiting lecturer on common law subjects for the University of London LL.B. External Degree law programme for several private law colleges. Matthew is the head of the Migration Practice Group and Malaysia Desk in Central Chambers.
