Masagoes (or ‘Mas’ as he is usually referred to) is a Consultant with Central Chambers. He graduated from the University of London in 1984 with a LL.B. Honours and was called to the English Bar as a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn in July 1985. The following year, he was admitted to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor and immediately started his legal practice in the areas involving both civil and commercial litigation, company and commercial law, criminal law, family law, Muslim law and vehicle and industrial claims. As a Solicitor, he has advised clients on all types of claims, drew up many types of agreements, dealt with wills & trusts, probates and administration of estates, Shariah, Corporate and Conveyancing matters.
In addition to a law degree, Mas is also a qualified Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant and an Associate Fellow of the Islamic Institute of Banking and Insurance (UK).
From 2003 – 2009, he was involved as a legal and financial consultant to three local companies in the areas of financial advisory services and Muslim estate planning where he was responsible for drawing up more than 1,000 Islamic wills and Islamic compliant estate documents.
Mas is also a regular speaker on Islamic estate planning and/or financial planning for Muslim individuals and business owners as well as for financial advisers generally. He also arranges for corporate lending and joint ventures for local and Malaysian real estate developers with Middle Eastern Islamic Banks and other financiers.
