Aloysius Wee is the other founding director of Central Chambers and heads the China Practice Group and Regional Practice Group. He was instrumental in putting together the Joint Venture Alliance that created Dacheng Central Chambers. He is the Managing Partner of Dacheng Central Chambers. He was recently named as "Asia's Hot 100 lawyers" in Asian Legal Business. Aloysius is in his 15th year of practice. His background had been in civil litigation with particular emphasis on Intellectual Property Disputes, Building and Construction Law, Real Estate Transactions, Landlord Tenant Disputes and Management Corporation matters. Aloysius has since 1997 advised on various development projects and conveyancing transactions for the Far East Group of Companies, Heeton Limited and other property developers.
The China Practice is currently Aloysius’s main developmental focus. He advises on various cross-border joint ventures involving China and in the area of mergers and acquisitions of Chinese companies. Advising Singapore clients on entry strategies into China and investments in China is his current expertise given his network in China. He is actively involved in cross border real estate transactions, represents developers (foreign & local) and individuals in their cross border sale and purchase of real property.
Aloysius also contributed before the Select Committee on the Building Management and Strata Management Bill, giving feedback on this piece of legislation emanating from his vast involvement with this area of the law.
Aloysius is a trainer for the e-savviness law course endorsed by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and construction law course at the Construction Industry Training Institute. He is a regular speaker at training sessions for Knight Frank Estate Management Pte Ltd, Far East Organisation, AIA and many other commercial organisations.
